Yobe State Governor, Hon. Mai Mala Buni, has called on the people of the state to use the occasion of Eid-el-Kabir to pray for peace and prosperity in the state and the country.

In his Sallah message on Sunday, Governor Buni emphasized the importance of peace, security, and prosperity for every citizen. “We should therefore intensify prayers for our leaders to be guided rightly for increased peace, security, and prosperity of our dear country,” he said.

Governor Buni urged the people of Yobe State and the North-East region to continue supporting and cooperating with security operatives. “His Excellency President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR has shown great commitment to fighting insecurity. He should be supported and encouraged to succeed,” he added.

He also called on the people to promote the virtues of peaceful coexistence, love, and sacrifice, which are central to the lessons of Eid. “These virtues should extend beyond the Sallah season to help us build a peaceful, strong, and united country,” Buni said.

The governor commended security agencies for their efforts in maintaining peace across the state and appreciated the people’s resilience in rebuilding their communities and restoring their livelihoods.

“As the rainy season commences, we should engage in agriculture to meet our food needs,” he said. Governor Buni announced that his administration would soon launch a massive agricultural revolution to make farming attractive, productive, and profitable, aiming to fulfill local food requirements and produce surplus for export to boost economic development.

“You should therefore take advantage of this program and align with the administration’s development agenda,” he urged.
