Eid Kabir: FCT NSCDC deploys 4000 personnel to beef up security worship centres, flash points, other infrastructures

The Commandant of the FCT Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Dr Peter Maigari has ordered the deployment of 4000 personnel from Command Headquarters, Area Commands and District offices of the FCT to strategic areas like places of worship, recreational facilities, markets, shopping malls, parks, gardens, densely populated areas and suspected flash points to conduct raids, beef up security and to protect Critical National Assets and Infrastructure to prevent unscrupulous activities by criminals during the period of Eid el Kabir celebration.

In the press statement signed by the FCT Command PRO, ASC II Okomanyi Comfort the Commandant, Dr Peter Maigari made available to newsmen in Abuja stated that “protection of life and property is the priority of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps therefore the Corps will stop at nothing to ensure its protection by implement security measures to avert disruptions and criminal activities. ”

Amongst the 4000 are personnel from the response team, special squad, female squad, counter terrorism unit, armed squad, Chemical Biological Radiological Nuclear Explosive( CBRNE) and officers from the intelligence unit.

Commandant Peter charged them to be extra vigilant and to discharge their statutory responsibility with all diligence.

He urged the general public to support the security personnel with adequate, apt and useful information by reporting any suspicious movement or activities of individuals, groups or persons to the nearest security post and charged everyone to be security conscious as security is everyone’s business.

He also assured the residents of adequate security, as NSCDC, alongside other security agencies will work round the clock to ensure safety of life and property.

Commandant Peter Maigari felicitated will all Muslim faithful and wished everyone a peaceful public holidays ahead.
