Encroachment Into School Premises Is Unpatriotic – Ahmad

Permanent Secretary of the State Universal Basic Education Board Alhaji Ahmad Rufa’i Ibrahim made the vow when he led a team of officials of the board to Wurno Local Government to investigate a complaint regarding encroachment into a land belonging to Adakanta Primary School Wurno.

Alhaji Ahmad Rufa’i who described encroachment into basic schools lands as the most unpatriotic behavior in the society nowadays, said the State Universal Basic Education Board will henceforth not fold it’s arms allowing people out of their selfish interest making constructions within school lands.

According to him the way and manner some people are hiding under the umbrella of politics to illegally acquire lands belonging to basic schools across the state can not be accepted hence the need for all those involved in the act to make a rethink.

He said the significance of basic education can not be measured as such people in every community are expected to contribute to its progress by contributing lands for the construction of schools rather than encroaching into school land.

The Permanent Secretary to this end challenged District,Village and Hamlet Heads to cultivate the habit of reporting any incident of encouragement into school lands within their domains to Local Government Education Authorities for immediate action.

He however directed the immediate erection of beacons to demarcate the Adakanta Model Primary School original land as the board will soon fence the school to avert future encroachment.

Similarly, Alhaji Ahmad Rufa’i who is also the Chairman Anti Encroachment and Vandalisation Committee of the board was at the Wurno LGEA Secretariat which is also suffering from land encroachment.

Speaking shortly after he was taken round the LGEAs actual land,the Subeb Permanent Secretary directed the Education Secretary of the area and his Deputy to compile all names of schools with encroachment issues and forward it to the Director Administration of the board for action.

The Anti Encroachment and Vandalisation Committee had earlier made a stop over at the palace of the District Head of Wurno Alhaji Ibrahim Cigari Alhasan were they informed him of the notion behind their visit.

Other members of the team included Permanent Member two of the board Alhaji Muhammad Dan Ango Wurno, Directors of Administration Alhaji Mubarak Abdullahi Waziri, Mobilisation Alhaji Kabiru Aliyu as well as deputy directors of finance.
