EODU Warns Against Public Property Vandalization

The National President of Egume Ome Descendants Union (EODU), Alhaji Mohammed Lawal Ibrahim on Thursday in Egume warned against vandalization of public property that could deter government’s efforts.

Alhaji Ibrahim gave the warning while handling over to the management of the general Hospital Egume, the ‘four hospital bed units’ donated by the Kogi state Sustainable Development Goals (KSSDGs).

Alhaji Ibrahim who was represented at official handing over by the Vice President of the Union, Comrade Sunday Maji enjoined the management of the institution to ensure proper usage of the beddings to enhance its life span.

He commended the governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello for the good gesture adding that proper usage of public property would encourage government’s future assistance to the community.

In his speech, the chairman of the Lokoja branch of EODU, Mr. Noah Ocheni stressed that the plight of some patients on admission in recent times who brings mattresses from home to sleep necessitated the pursuit of these materials. “I thanked the state government for listening to outcry of my people.”

Mr. Ocheni who commended the Special Adviser to the governor on Sustainable Development Goals for approving ‘four units hospital beds’ for the General Hospital Egume,
promised the total support of the community for governor Yahaya Bello’s administration.

The materials which was facilitated by the Executive body of Egume Ome Descendants Union (EODU), Lokoja branch was handed over to the management of the hospital at the premises, Egume in Dekina Local government area.

Receiving the ‘four unit beddings’ on behalf of the management, Dr. Yusuf Samson appreciated the facilitator, the Lokoja branch of Egume Ome Descendants Union and the state government for remembering and providing the needs of Egume general Hospital.

He therefore assured the government and the Egume community of adequate utilisation and protection of the items against theft and vandalization.

In his remarks, the representative of Onu Egume, the Amana Attah Ojikpadala, Chief Onu Atogijo Mohammed thanked the state government for the recognition and pledged the loyalty of the community for governor Yahaya Bello’s administration.
