Former Liverpool and Tottenham striker Peter Crouch has tipped Arsenal to suffer defeat against Sunderland in their upcoming Premier League clash this weekend.
Sunderland are set to host the Gunners at the Stadium of Light on Saturday evening, with kick-off scheduled for 6:30 p.m. (Nigerian time).
The Black Cats go into the game on the back of a draw with Everton, while Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal defeated Burnley in their last league outing.
Speaking on his podcast, Crouch said he expects Sunderland to edge the visitors in a tight contest.
“I think going there, the crowd will be up for it. The players — it is their cup final,” Crouch said.
“I need something big, and I’m going to go with Sunderland 1-0. I’m willing to die on this sword.”
A win for Sunderland would mark one of the biggest upsets of the Premier League season so far.
