The Executive Secretary of the Plateau State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board (PSMPWB) Hon. 𝐀𝐥𝐡𝐚𝐣𝐢 𝐃𝐚i𝐲𝐚𝐛𝐮 𝐃𝐚𝐮𝐝𝐚, has strongly condemned the recent massacre in Bokkos Local Government Area, Plateau State, where innocent lives were brutally taken and property worth millions of naira destroyed.
In a statement made available to News Men on Tuesday 8 April 2025, Hon. Dauda described these acts as senseless, barbaric, and inhumane.
“The murder of innocent souls and the widespread destruction of property in the affected communities of Bokkos must be unequivocally condemned”.
According Hon. Daiyabu Dauda, the heinous acts, including the killing of mourners and peaceful villagers who were attacked in their sleep, represent a direct assault on the sanctity of life and the peace-loving nature of our communities while stressing that such deliberate acts of provocation, intimidation cannot be tolerated any more.
The executive Secretary of the Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board also called on citizens of Plateau State and Nigeria to unite against evil forces that seek to destabilize communities and instill fear in innocent people.
Alhaji Daiyabu Dauda, for the stressed, that the resurgence of attacks are part of a larger plan to destabilize Plateau peaceful communities, insisting that the government in collaboration with security agencies, must take decisive action to ensure these criminals are apprehended and made to face justice.
“It is unacceptable for these terrorists to continue terrorizing our people,” he added.
While commending the Plateau State Governor Barr. Caleb Mutfwang for his proactive measures and also efforts to ensure that the welfare of the affected Communities are being sorted, 𝐇𝐨𝐧.𝐃𝐚𝐮𝐝𝐚, also expressed strong support for the Governor Mutfwang, whom he said has courageously spoken out against these killings, calling the perpetrators “MURDERERS” and distancing these attacks from any narrative of a farmer-herder conflict.
He further Praised Governor Mutfwang, for his clear stance, which he said will go a long way in reframing the narrative and holding the perpetrators accountable.
“Governor Mutfwang’s leadership has been commendable, and his firm position against these killings sends a strong message to the perpetrators that the government will not sit idly by while innocent lives are lost”.
Additionally, 𝐇𝐨𝐧. 𝐃𝐚𝐮𝐝𝐚 Applauded President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his swift response, which led to the visit of key security officials, including the National Security Adviser and the Chief of Army Staff, to Plateau State, describing the actions are a positive step toward halting the violence and restoring peace to the affected communities.
He also called on all citizens to work together with security agencies, not just to report suspicious activities but to be proactive in defending their communities and supporting law enforcement in bringing perpetrators to justice.
“While the government and security agencies have the primary responsibility to protect lives and property, the cooperation of citizens is paramount in ensuring the success of these efforts” he said.
𝐇𝐨𝐧. 𝐃𝐚𝐮𝐝𝐚 also expressed gratitude to civil society groups, religious organizations, corporate bodies, and Nigerians at large, for their solidarity in condemning the attacks. He urged everyone to continue standing in unity, as this collective voice will go a long way in curbing the reign of terror in Plateau State and beyond.
While conveying his deepest condolences to the families and communities affected by the 𝐁𝐨𝐤𝐤𝐨𝐬 massacre, Hon. Dauda prayed for God’s comfort, healing, and strength for the victims, and reaffirmed his commitment to continue working with all stakeholders to ensure that such tragic events are never repeated.
He also expressed sincere hope that the recent arrests of some of the murderers will lead to more breakthroughs in exposing the enemies of peace in Plateau State and our nation. Together, we can restore the peace and security that every Plateau citizen deserves
