Evangelist Parkins Ogede And Past Councillors Appreciates State PDP Working Committee.

The immediate past Vice Chairman of Southern Ijaw Local Government, Evangelist Parkins Ogede has led former Councilors of constituency 1,2,3 and 4 to thank the PDP State Working Committee at the Party Secretariat in Yenagoa.

Evangelist Parkins Ogede speaking at the event said the visit was conceived to thank leaders of the party for giving them the platform to contest the 2019 Local Government election now that their tenure has expired and also to pledge their loyalty, commitment to support and deliver all the party flagbearers in the 2023 general election.

He said the reward for meritorious service is promotion to higher level and appealed to the state working committee of the PDP to identify their areas of strength as immediate past councilors and reward them accordingly, noting that they are well grounded at the grassroots to deliver the party.

Evangelist Parkins Ogede commended the PDP State Working Committee members for always being on ground at the party Secretariat to handle issues relating to members.

He appealed to the leadership of the party to to lead them to meet with Governor Douye Diri to enable them present an award to the Miracle Governor in recognition of the reforms he introduced that have strengthen the local government administration in the state and the prompt payment of their severance allowance.

Speaking on behalf of the 17 Councilors, the immediate past Leader of the Southern Ijaw Local Government Legislative Arm, Mr.Woniowei Mark Emmanuel said the secret to get more in life is to always say thank you for every good deed adding that PDP placed them on a track that enabled them to gather leadership experience and expressed their willingness to support PDP to be the dominant party in the state.

Responding, the State PDP Chairman, Hon. Solomon Agwanana, represented by the State Working Committee Secretary, Hon. Gesiye Isowo said Southern Ijaw Local Government has fulfilled scriptures and have become a pacesetter Council in the State to thank the party that sponsored them to contest election and attained political office.

He said there is strength in unity and advised the former Councilors to remain united and thanked them for standing firm to support PDP and the prosperity administration led by Governor Douye Diri and his Deputy, Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo.

He prayed God to grant all their heart desires for coming to thank the party which he stated is unprecedented.

On their request for a meeting with Governor Douye Diri, Hon. Gesiye Isowo assured Evangelist Parkins Ogede and the former Councilors that the State PDP Chairman, Hon. Solomon Agwanana will convey their request to the Miracle Governor.

He advised those the party sponsored to win elections and occupied exalted positions that are defecting to other parties to emulate the grateful attitude of the immediate past Southern Ijaw Local Government elected officials to appreciate the party and urged them to return as the umbrella is big enough to contain them.

Also speaking the PDP State Working Committee Central Senatorial Vice Chairman , Chief Wisdom Nathan said he is proud to be associated with the immediate past Vice Chairman, Evangelist Ogede and the former Councilors for their demonstration of gratitude to the party in the present era when people find it very difficult to say thank you to their benefactors.

Chief Wisdom Nathan noted that members of PDP State Working Committee are highly honoured by their show of gratitude, describing the thank you as historic .

The PDP State Working Committee Publicity Secretary Hon. Ebiye Ogoli while giving the vote of thanks noted that the former elected Southern Ijaw Council officials has set high standards in local government administration and urged them to support one another to aspire to greater heights saying that they are proud to be associated with their performance while in office.
