“Everything You Say Should Be True, but Not Everything True Should Be Said”.- Voltaire.

Truth is both crucial and important and every statement should be grounded in truth as it breeds trust and integrity.

But, on the other hand, discretion should be applied when attempting to share the truth. The following factors should be considered: timing, context and impact of such truth shared. Most important is, will it foster a healthy and robust relationship if shared. If the truth shared might cause conflict, unnecessary harm and discomfort, caution should be applied.

” knowledge is knowing what to say, wisdom is knowing when to say it”.

Also,we should learn to be silent in the following circunstsnces:1.Be silent – in the heat of anger.2 be silent – when you don’t have all the facts. Be silent – when you haven’t verified the story.4. Be silent – if your words will offend a weaker person.5.Be silent – when it is time to listen.9. Be silent – if your words will damage someone else’s reputation.10. Be silent – if your words will damage a friendship.11 be silent – when you are feeling critical.12 be silent – if you can’t say it without screaming.13. Be silent – if your words will be a poor reflection of your friends and family.14. Be silent – if you may have to eat your words later.15. Be silent – if you have already said it more than one time.16. Be silent – when you are tempted to flatter a wicked person.

Many good relationships have been lost because we failed to remain silent. “He who guards his mouth protects his life, but the one who opens his lips invites his own ruin”.- proverbs 13:
