Former Rivers State lawmaker Nnam Robinson Ewoh has revealed controversial insights about Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). Ewoh labeled Wike a “destroyer,” claiming he has never won any election through popular votes.
According to Ewoh, Wike’s electoral victories come from manipulated results rather than genuine voter support. “For Wike to win, they have to write results for him. He has never won by popular vote,” Ewoh stated.
Ewoh also linked the decline of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to Wike’s influence. He added, “Wike has never been a success story for the PDP. He has been a disaster.”
Despite Wike’s influence, Ewoh expressed confidence that Governor Siminalayi Fubara will secure re-election in 2027. “What will determine Fubara’s return in 2027 are the votes of the people of Rivers, not Wike’s. Wike has only one vote, and that won’t make the governor lose.”
Ewoh further warned President Bola Tinubu to be cautious with Wike, suggesting the minister might eventually turn against him.
Tensions between Wike and Governor Fubara have escalated since the 2023 elections, reportedly due to a struggle for political control in the state.
