Jigawa is among the states that was affected by excess Flooding where many people died, others rendered homeless while farmers loss farm products which may affect the food production across the state this season.
Our correspondent who visited the state last Sunday reported that many lives were lost and quite a number of households lost their houses while a lot of farmers list their farm products as a result of the over flooding that became a threat to the state despites all efforts being made by the government to address the issue.
Daybreak News visited some parts of Ringim local government, Taura and Gujungu Town where many roads were broken which forces drivers and vehicle owners to creates some routes in order to reach their destinations.
Similarly, farmlands around Yanleman to Ganuwar kuka and Hadejia were also washed away due to heavy downpour which resulted in spoiling all their crops where many people remained confused about what they lost to flooding.
Most of the people that had a chats with our correspondent disclosed that the flooding may reduce food production across Jigawa state and the people are certainly in needs of more intervention from both the state and federal governments as well as other donor agencies.
In his remark at Hadejia Town, the Jigawa state AFAN chairman Alhaji Idris Yau Mai Unguwa lamented that ” this year we encountered an excess Flooding in Jigawa state and the state government is making good efforts to assist the people accordingly where a high powered committees were inaugurated to find out a lasting solution to the disaster”.
He condoled with the families of those who died as a result of the flooding and symphasized with those who lost their houses and crops across the state on behalf of the Association.
