Farmers, Herdsmen Called On FMARD To Repair Kunnawa Earth Dam.

The coalition of farmers and herdsmen based at Kunnawa Dam location have called on the federal ministry of agriculture and rural development (FMRD) to repair Kunnawa Dam which has broken last week as a result of heavy down pour.

In a series of an interactions with the both sides Malam Muhammad Mai albasa who represents the farmers and Ardo Alhaji Geza who represents the herdsmen appealed to the ministry to repair and expands the Dam for dry season farming and livestock consumption when it was repaired under On farm water harvesting structure programe in 2018.

The farmers and herdsmen that were based at the bottom of the Dam assured that in the last two years, rural to urban migrations has been reduced because there is an employment opportunities while the herdsmen benefited with pastureland that is available around the Dam site which is another development.

Daybreak news reporter who visited the Dam site gathered that the Dam was last repaired in 2018 by the FMARD under the on farm water harvesting structure by the department of climate change but broken this week due to heavy down pour where the place needs expansion and good embankment.
