The senior special assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari on media and publicity, Garba Shehu, has said that the federal government is chipping in an official order to handle extortion and tax evasion.

The presidential associate expressed this when he showed up on Sunday Politics, a program on Channels Television.

Daybreak.ng accumulates that Shehu said that the US episode where 77 Nigerians were captured by the Federal Bureau of Investigation is harming to Nigeria’s picture, depicting the occurrence as a humiliation to the nation.

According to Shehu, the activities of a couple of Nigerians isn’t the activity of everyone in the nation, He included that the image of other citizens ought not be tarnished because their countrymen committed crimes

He said: “The president will not stand in the way of the justice system. Every citizen that travels out of this country is expected to obey the laws of their host country. President Muhammadu Buhari is not one to excuse Nigerians from the laws of countries in which they reside.

“Therefore you will expect a more vigorous engagement with National Assembly. The laws will have to change, this has got to be tackled and if it will take executive orders, this will be strengthened very rapidly.

“Nigerians are hardworking people all over the world, there are millions of our citizens out there earning legitimate living, they don’t deserve to be so tarnished.” he said.
