By Muhammad Ibrahim, Sokoto

As Sokoto is one of the seven states in northern nigeria in terms of poverty gave the reason why the Naja’atu initiated Salama Foundation that is here to launch empowerment to youths across the state.

Shuaibu Mungadi of the Farin Wata TV and Vision Fm further said Naja’atu as a lady too many, challenged President Buhari on the way forward for youths and insecurity in the north western part of this country.

The initiator of the programme,Naja’atu Muhammad who briefed the gathering on the aims and objectives of her visit to Sokoto said she initiated the Salama Youths Initiative and Empowerment Organization to assist mainly unemployed youths to be self reliant and responsible members of the society.

She said the whole idea is to sensitize youths, fundamentally change their mindsets, the idea of idleness, underemployment, looking at the root cause of insecurity faced by northern Nigeria especially in the north west.

“I have said enough concerning the failure of this government, I think I have said much more than can say in the north, I don’t mix my words when it comes to the failure of the government, but we should also go beyond that, we should change things with our hands because government cannot do it for us, the reason why i initiated Salama mainly to focus on the youths in northern Nigeria,we have tried to trace and find out root causes of insecurity and eventually identidied that the education has suffered set back in this part of the country and mainly youths”.

They have to survive, an average northerner need to be self responsible, self reliant but has not been the case in northern Nigeria where those at the upper Level neglect the existence of the lower groups calling on them to stop accumulating only for their families, they should recall that they would account for their deeds and governance where nobody has the power the protest.

She said another thing that cause poverty is redundancy thanking Senator Wamakko for what he has been doing towards reducing poverty in the state.

Salama was initiated to improve the living standard of the society going by the meeting she had with President Buhari saying the amount meant for the masses did not reach the target.

Another aim she said is to organise youths and give them sense of belonging with which they have to be on their legs and doing the expected in order to reduce insurgency

The Sokoto,Kebbi and Zamfara zonal Commandant, NDLEA Alhaji Musbahu Idris in his remarks spoke on the dangers of drugs abuse.

According to Prophetic traditions, “whatever intoxicates is considered as drugs”, he averred.

Marwa injected and motivate their performance through given them adequate welfare package and other needs with which to execute their national duties effectively.

He said Marwa has given them the matching order that all commands across the states are turning up drugs in tonnes and therefore great achivements.

Misbahu further elaborated that it is the Nigerians money given to them as salaries and therefore must compensate through performing the expected and the duties imposed on them.

Allah blessed northern Nigeria with fertile lands to cultivate and plant whatever seed or crop one may prefer, and that is number one sector towards reducing poverty.

He called on all to avoid using designer drugs, enregisers and other related drugs that are not prescribed by doctors or pharmacists.

Speakers after speakers all commended Naja’atu for the programme aimed at assisting youths across the country, particularly northern Nigeria where insecurity hampers all sources of social development.
