Bayelsa IPAC Elects, Inaugurates New Executive Committee

The Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC), the umbrella body of all registered political parties in Bayelsa State, has elected and inaugurated a new executive committee to steer its affairs.

The election was conducted by the National Chairman of IPAC, Alhaji Yusuf Dantalle, alongside other national officers, and supervised by the Independent National Electoral Commission’s Head of Election and Party Monitoring, Mr. Francis Ikim.

Those inaugurated include: Chairman, Mr. Simeon Imomotimi; Deputy Chairman, Pst. Mrs. Peace Oruama; Secretary, Mr. Victor Ben; Assistant Secretary, Ms. Esther Chenemi; Treasurer, Mr. Akwakwa Akwakwa; Organising Secretary, Prince Onekpe; Financial Secretary, Mr. Opuriapelebo Indutimi; Publicity Secretary, Mr. Edwin Tare; and Legal Adviser, Barr. Nabai Inemugha.

In his remarks, the IPAC National Chairman, Alhaji Yusuf Dantalle, commended members for their peaceful conduct and the contestants for their spirit of sportsmanship.

He charged the new chairman to work as a team to foster unity and cautioned against high-handedness, noting that such conduct negates the constitution of IPAC.

Dantalle advised the new executive to consult widely before taking sensitive decisions in order to give members a sense of belonging. He added that the positions should serve as a springboard to higher responsibilities in the future.

In his acceptance speech, the newly inaugurated chairman, Mr. Simeon Imomotimi, expressed gratitude to God and thanked members for the opportunity to serve, promising not to betray the confidence reposed in him.

Imomotimi pledged to work tirelessly to carry everyone along and called for unity and support from members to build a stronger and more effective IPAC.
