Federal Ministry of Works Repairs Section 2 Kano-Maiduguri Road After Heavy Flooding

By Jabiru Hassan, Kano

The Federal Ministry of Works has recently repaired the Sabon Gari section of the Kano-Maiduguri Road in Bauchi State, which was severely damaged by heavy flooding.

The flood, attributed to climate change, caused significant hardship to residents and users of the road. In response, the Honourable Minister of Works promptly initiated measures to address the situation.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, recognizing the gravity of the situation, provided immediate intervention, renewing hope for the affected communities.

Following the President’s directive, Honourable Minister of Works Sen. Engr. Nweze David Umahi visited the area on August 15, 2024. He launched emergency response efforts and implemented temporary solutions to mitigate the damage.

As of September 12, 2024, the Federal Ministry of Works has successfully repaired and reopened the road for emergency use, with final and permanent construction work scheduled to follow.

The swift action of the Honourable Minister and the support from President Tinubu have been praised for restoring hope to the people of Bauchi State. The Federal Ministry of Works, under Sen. Umahi, has been commended for its effective response to the crisis.
