FG setup LOC Guinness World boxing championship fight 3 times but…Host revealed

By Achadu Gabriel, Kaduna

Federal Government of Nigeria has, on three occasions, inaugurated the Local Organizing Committee (LOC), for the hosting of Nigeria’s first Guinness World Record Boxing Championship Fight to hold outside of the United States of America.

The first, second and thirds inaugurations were reportedly held in November 9th, 2006, January 7th, 2014 and May 2,1st, 2019 respectfully, according to statement personally issued by the host, WBC, Bash Ali, and made available to our Correspondent.

He stated that despite the trice re-inaugurations, the multi-billion naira revenue driven historic boxing fight is yet to hold due to corruption, the Nigerian World Boxing Champions (WBC), Bashiru Ali widely known as Bash Ali, has stated.

“The FGN has, on 3 occasions, November 9, 2006, January 7, 2014 and May 21, 2019 inaugurated the Bash Ali Boxing Project Local Organizing Committee to host in Nigeria’s the first Guinness World Record Boxing Championship Fight (GWRBCF) to hold outside of the United States of America, but this historic fight is yet to hold because of CORRUPTION”, he stated.

Bash Ali however explained that after the FGN has “wasted his life and time for over 18 years, this historic fight will finally hold, not because CORRUPTION no longer reigns in Nigeria but because I  refused to give up on my dream and I refused to give up on Nigeria”.

“We must never give up on our dream. We must never give up on Nigeria’, Bash disclosed this in one of his birthday comment, dated

Thursday, February 27, 2025.

Bash Ali on a letter to chairman national sports commission Abuja dated February 25 match 2025, reiterated that people should put Nigeria first.

“Let’s us put Nigeria first and this week give us a date to re-inaugurate the above local organizing committee to host to host Nigeria the first GWRBCF to hold outside USA.

“Thank you very much for the warm reception you gave me on November 13, 2024 when I paid you a courtesy visit. May Almighty Allah give you the wisdom to help make sport vibrant economically in Nigeria and above all, make you successful where all others have failed. Aamin”, he stated.

Also in an address during a courtesy visit to Mallam Shehu Dikko, Bash Ali stated that the Project is Private Sector driven with the FGN, providing the enabling environment.

“A Guinness World Record Boxing Championship Fight has never held outside of the United States of America so mine would be the first and the most lucrative in the history of Pay Per View Television Revenue.

“132 countries are coming to Nigeria to be part of Boxing History. This Project is Private Sector driven with the Federal Government of Nigeria (FGN) providing the enabling environment.

“Sir, it is imperative to inform you that the FGN has on 3 occasions inaugurated the above Local Organizing Committee (LOC) and has written to the World Boxing Bodies to guarantee their safety in Nigeria and to also inform them that the historic event is private sector driven and the organizers are already sourcing for the funds in a domiciliary account at the Central Bank of Nigeria to facilitate payment”, he added.

Responding, the Commission’s chairman stated that “The Ministry of Youth & Sports, now National Sports Commission, will follow up to ensure timely payment” but Bash Ali said “all these are yet to happen because of CORRUPTION”.

Bash Ali also prayed that “Sir, this is a passionate reminder and appeal to you to let us put our great country, Nigeria first and move with deliberate speed to re-inaugurate the above LOC so it can be more effective to continue in her directive by the FGN to host in Nigeria a successful historic fight”.

“A Guinness World Record Boxing Championship Fight has never held outside of the United States of America so mine would be the FIRST and the most lucrative in the history of Pay Per View Television Revenue’,  Bash Ali stated this on 24th February 2025 when he paid visit to national sports commission, abuja office

“The organizers are already sourcing for the and the /// and in a domiciliary account at the Central Bank of Nigeria to facilitate payment.
