Fire Razed Sheikh Mahmud Abubakar Gumi Memorial

Thursday evening, the Deputy Governor of Sokoto State, Engr. Idris Muhammad Gobir, alongside the Honorable Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Prof. A.L. Ala, inspected a block of four classrooms at Sheikh Mahmud Abubakar Gumi Memorial College, Sokoto, which was affected by a fire incident earlier in the morning. The cause of the fire remains unknown.

Information Officer Ibrahim Iya said following the inspection, the Deputy Governor assessed the school’s perimeter to ensure proper security coordination.

Present at the scene were the Commissioner and the Director of Administration, Abubakar Umar Salame, and all directors of the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education, Sokoto State.
