Family and friends of Dr Bege Katuka, Chairman Kaura Local Government area of Kaduna state who was kidnapped by unknown gunmen have appealed to the state government to speed up efforts being made for his safe relaese.
The appeal was contained in a statement issued by Kagoro Governoment Old Boy Association and made available to newsmen in kaduna on Tuesday.
Signed by it’s Chairman and secretary, Gambo Santos Sanga and Theophilus Usman, the statement, which commended the concerted efforts of state Government, called for more intervention for Dr Katuka’s safe released from Kidnappers den. It stated that “The Government college kagoro old boys (1997 ) set, wishes to commend the concerted efforts of the Kaduna state government towards addressing the insecurity challenges bedeviling some parts of the state as well as the heinous crime rates ranging from armed banditry, cattle rustling and kidnapping.
“We also want to express our sincere gratitude the state government over the proactive measures been taken to ensure the safe release of our fellow classmate and the current interim chairman of kaura local government area of the state.
“These efforts been made by government is highly commendable but more need to be, especially as regards providing useful information to his family on the true situation at hand, particularly his state of health.
“This clarion appeal is in view of the fact that its over fifteen days now that the kaura local government council boss has been in the kidnappers den with no reliable information on his wellbeing.
“To this end, we urged the Kaduna state government to expedite action towards the safe return of our brother with a view to reuniting him with his family”, it stated.
The old boys also implored security agencies to redouble their efforts towards protecting innocent lives and properties across the state and beyond, adding “We wholeheartedly joined the immediate family of Dr Katuka and other well wishers in praying for God divine intervention towards his safe release.
