GGASS Dambatta Honours Lauratu Ado Disoescribes Her as an Achiever

By Jabiru Hassan, Kano

The Dambatta Old Girls Association (DAMOGA) has honored the former Principal of Government Girls Arabic Secondary School (GGASS) Dambatta, Hajiya Lauratu Ado Diso, describing her as an achiever and an exemplary leader who dedicated her life to advancing education with passion and commitment.

The recognition was made during the DAMOGA 30th anniversary celebration held recently in Kano, where the association presented her with a Merit Award for her outstanding contributions to the school and education in Kano and Jigawa States.

In her remarks, the President of the DAMOGA Class of 1995, Hajiya Ruqayya Muhammad Yakubu, praised Hajiya Lauratu Ado Diso for her remarkable leadership qualities and lasting impact on the students she mentored.

“We recognize Hajiya Lauratu Ado Diso as an achiever and one of our most inspiring role models. Her talents, initiatives, and long-term experience continue to benefit many of us today. These are among the reasons we are honoring her at this memorable occasion,” she stated.

Responding to the honor, Hajiya Lauratu Ado Diso expressed deep appreciation to the association for recognizing her efforts and contributions, describing the gesture as both humbling and rewarding.

“On behalf of my family and friends, I sincerely thank DAMOGA for this recognition. My door remains open to the association’s executive members whenever they need guidance or support, despite my busy schedule,” she said.

She also congratulated the members of DAMOGA on their 30th anniversary, commending them for their unity and dedication to sustaining the legacy of their alma mater.

“I wish every member of this great association continued success and many more progressive years under DAMOGA,” she added.

The event formed part of a series of activities marking DAMOGA’s 30th anniversary, which featured reunions, awards, and donations aimed at promoting educational development and strengthening the bond among former students.
