GILS to hold 2nd edition of UMARU MUSA YAR’ADUA leadership summit, awards


Global Initiative For Leadership Success GILS, the convener of the annual President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua International Leadership Conference is set for the 2nd edition billed for 28th June, 2025 in Abuja, Nigeria’s Federal Capital Territory


The Theme for this years edition is, “Electoral Management institution: Midwife of True Democracy, Development and Prosperity”.

According to a statement signed by High Chief Sunnie Chukumele Eze Okwurume Emohua
President/CEO of GILS, this year’s Conference is conceptualized on the premise of deepening the discourse on the electoral institution in Nigeria, Africa and indeed the developing nations of the world. The Conference will seek to link the challenge of development in developing countries with the failures of the leadership recruitment institutions. Contributory variables or factors that cause the challenge will also be looked into, and proffer appropriate recommend – ations made.


The Conference which will hold at the Auditorium of the National Universities Commission, Maitama, Abuja will have delegates from the presidency, governors, relevant multilateral organizations Judiciary, security institutions, Civil Society, political parties, electoral institutions, Labour etc.
Papers will be presented on various topics around the Conference Theme by erudite scholars, technocrats and professionals. Also, a Discussion Panel comprising topnotch academics, legislators, and professionals will contribute to the discourse.
Awards and Honours will also be bestowed on a range of selected honorees from diverse backgrounds who have contributed to development of society and humanity.


It is expected that the enriching take aways and outcomes of the Conference will add desired value on the debate for improved electoral processes in Nigeria and Africa, as it is argued that the bane of African development has been the lack of trust on the electoral institutions.
