Popular gospel singer Paul Nwokocha has finally broken his silence on the controversies surrounding his marriage, confirming in a viral video that he has no regrets about ending his union due to his wife’s alleged “abominable acts.”
In the video, which was posted on his official YouTube channel on Sunday, Nwokocha expressed his firm stance on infidelity, stating:
“If I marry today and discover that my wife is engaging in an abominable act before God and man, I will send her out of my house.”
He went on to make shocking allegations, claiming that his estranged wife had been sending nude photos and videos to other men. Addressing critics questioning his decision, he asked how they would react if faced with a similar betrayal.
“I married a wife, not a whore. So, I owe nobody an apology for this,” he declared.
His remarks have sparked mixed reactions on social media, with some supporting his decision while others criticize him for making private marital issues public.
Pattern of Marital Controversies
According to ABNTV, Nwokocha’s latest marriage crisis follows a history of controversial separations. His second marriage to Goodness Nwokocha, which began in September 2023, has now ended after just two years, with her family officially returning the bride price—a traditional act signifying the dissolution of marriage.
Nwokocha’s first marriage to Alice Nwokocha ended barely a month before he wed Goodness. His separation from Alice was reportedly due to “maltreatment,” including her alleged refusal to serve him food.
The singer has previously stated his belief that marriage should be “for better, for better,” rejecting the conventional “for better, for worse” vow.
Allegations of Mistreatment
A family source, speaking anonymously, revealed that Goodness endured hardships in her marriage. She was reportedly treated more like a housemaid than a wife and had no prior romantic history with Nwokocha before their union.
She had relocated from Lagos to marry him at the insistence of his uncles, without conducting background checks. However, by May 2024, tensions escalated, and with the return of the bride price, their marriage was officially over.
