Gov Alia Condemns Attack On House of Reps Member By Armed Criminals, Places N10 million Bounty

Governor Hyacinth Alia of Benue State, has condemned in strong terms the attack on the Makurdi residence of Hon Solomon Wombo, the Member of the House of Representatives, representing Katsina-Ala, Ukum, Logo Constituency by armed men.

A statement by Governor Alia’s Chief Press Secretary, Tersoo Kula, says the Lawmaker’s housekeeper was brutalized, leaving him with various degrees of injuries.

“Recall that some armed men invaded the residence of Hon Solomon Wombo, and desperately demanded to know his whereabout. They also insisted that the main flat of the house must be opened for them to search.”

The Governor noted that his administration will not watch criminals terrorize innocent people in the state, stressing that his government will do everything possible to ensure that the suspects are arrested and made to face the full wrath of the law.

Governor Alia, has therefore placed a ten million naira bounty to anyone with useful information that will lead to the arrest of the suspects. He assured the security and safety of lives and property of the citizens of the state.

He Implored security operatives to work tirelessly to ensure the suspects are apprehended and brought to justice to serve as a deterrent to others who may intend to carry out this dastardly acts.

The Governor enjoined the people of the state to remain calm, stating that his administration is not resting on its oars until Benue is free from all forms of criminality.
