Gov Alia Directs Dusk to Dawn Curfew in Oju LG

Governor Hyacinth Alia of Benue State has directed immediate curfew in Oju Local Government Area from 6am to 6pm daily until further notice.

The directive followed the wantom destruction of lives and property as a result of the dispute that erupted between Oju and Ebira clan of Oju Local Government that have continued unabated.

In a statement by the Chief Press Secretary, Mr Tersoo Kula says the Governor has also directed security agents to act promptly and deal appropriately with those found to be violating the directive.

Traditional Rulers have been implored to caution their subjects, even as he assured the people that security operatives have been deployed to the area to restore peace.
