Gov Alia Warns Against Corruption As He Swears in Key Govt Appointees

Benue State Governor, Rev Fr Hyacinth Alia has sworn in key appointees into his administration with a charge on them to resist all forms of corruption in the discharge of duties to their father land.

Those sworn in included; Professor Joseph Alakali as Secretary to the Benue State Government, Mr Agbogbo Ode as Head of Civil Service and Hon Paul Biam as Chief of staff to the Governor respectively.

The Governor who handed down the charge on Thursday at the Government House Makurdi during the swearing in of the aforementioned appointees implored them to be alive to their responsibility of delivering service to the people, adding that they were appointed on trust due to their past antecedents.

“I want to emphasize that we just don’t need all hands to be on deck but we need had work devoid of corruption. You are the first team we are assembling to serve people of the state.

Today marks another milestone in the life of this administration. Our Government is resolved to work as one people United by one destiny. We are resolved to banish backwardness and divisions as we embark on this journey.”

Governor Alia admonished all Benue citizens devoid of political affiliations to join hands with the present administration to build a new Benue for speedy development.

Responding on on behalf of other Appointees, Chief of staff to the Governor, Hon Paul Biam lauded Governor Alia for finding them worthy of service to the people. He assured that they would discharge their duties diligently.
