Gov. Ododo Enjoins Kogi People to Embrace Peace, Support His Administration

By Noah Ocheni, Lokoja

Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo, has urged the people of the state to embrace unity and support his administration to achieve the desired development.

Ododo gave the charge in Okene during the three-day fidau prayer for his late father, Alhaji Momohsani Ododo, who died on Monday in Abuja at the age of 83.

Emphasizing the need for unity, the governor said Ebiraland and Kogi State at large can only progress when the people make sacrifices to foster peace and harmony in the interest of the state.

He also expressed gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his concern and support to Kogi State, assuring that the people would reciprocate the gesture at the appropriate time.

“I use this occasion to extend my warm greetings to President Tinubu for his concern and support to Kogi State. He has been leading from the front, and we will continue to give him our support to enable him succeed,” Ododo stated.

In his remarks, former Governor Yahaya Bello urged the people of Kogi to be patient with Governor Ododo, stressing that his administration would take the state to another level of development.

Bello expressed confidence that Ododo’s performance would surpass his own, noting that the governor’s efforts across the three senatorial districts were already visible.

“It is my fervent prayer that he performs better than I did as governor. It is always the prayer of every father that his children succeed more than they did. Your performance is practical, and I am assuring you this will earn you a second term with ease,” Bello said.

While eulogizing the late Alhaji Momohsani Ododo, Bello promised that his legacies of discipline, truthfulness, and compassion would be sustained.
