Gov Ortom calls for synergy among ethnic groups, political parties

Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom has called for synergy among the ethnic groups in the country to achieve unity and development.     

Ortom who made the call at the government house Makurdi when the Senator representing Imo West Senatorial District and founder, Rochas Okorocha Foundation, Sen Rochas Okorocha paid a courtesy visit to him.   

The Governor lamented that the Federal Government has paid lip service to corruption such that those who should be prosecuted were allowed to move freely, urging the National Assembly to look into it.   

He attributed the nation’s backwardness to lack of honesty and sincerity among Nigerians and sued for attitudinal change for faster development. He assured  Sen Okorocha of his Government’s readiness to make land available for his foundation.   

Earlier in his remarks, Sen Okorocha had appealed for a land from the state government to enable the foundation establish itself in Benue State.   

Sen Okorocha who is the immediate past Governor of Imo State explained that establishing the foundation in Benue State would provide more indigent students the opportunity to enrol  in the school, stressing that at the moment only one hundred and fifty students would benefit from the foundation.   

He emphasized the need for Governments at all levels to strengthen their strategy to engage the people.   
The Senator lauded the Governor for the courage in tackling security challenge which has brought relative peace to the state as well as impacting positively the education sector.
