Benue State House of Assembly Service Commission has been inaugurated with a charge on members to be guided by extant laws governing the Commission’s activities for faster development.
Performing the ceremony at the Government House Makurdi yesterday, Governor Samuel Ortom tasked them to work for the smooth running of the Assembly with regard to staff promotion, recruitment and discipline.
He implored members of the Commission to work in harmony with the leadership of the Assembly, Benue Civil Service Commission among other stakeholders to achieve optimal result.
The Governor pointed out that appointments were based on previous experience, competence and adherence to the doctrine of fair representation and charged them to work assiduously to justify the confidence reposed in them.
Ortom noted that the independence of the legislature would pave the way for smooth running of Government and sued for the sustenance of the cordial working relationship between the two arms of government for more efficient service delivery.
