Kaduna state Governor Senator Uba Sani said he’s not ignorant of the neglect the people of Kaduna South and Southern Kaduna have gone through in the past.
The Governor made the assertion in a speech at “Kaduna crusade organized by The King Worship Chapel and Ministry International” held at polytechnic field, express bypass, opposite Ejeg filling station, Sabon Tasha, Kaduna state.
Governor Sani, in the sympathy addressed, however said that he has “Come today that we may together change the narratives about our State and open a new chapter in our Statehood”, as contained in his speech made available to our reporter, Friday, by the chief organizer David Ayuba Azzaman.
He therefore appealed to the gathering of Christians and Christian leaders to accept the fact that they’ve no any other State than Kaduna State that they’ve the solemn duty to preach peace and peaceful coexistence at all times.
Represented by Senior Special Assistant on Religious Matters (Christian)and the President, Baptist Conference Kaduna, Rev. Dr Ishaya Adamu Jangado stated that his Government is open to constructive criticism and ready to support noble ideas and initiatives that are aimed at advancing the course of unity, religious tolerance and form of prosperity in our dear State.
“I am not ignorant of the neglect people of Kaduna South and Southern Kaduna have endured in the past, but I have come today that we may together change the narratives about our State and open a new chapter in our Statehood.
“I assure you that our Government is open to constructive criticism and ready to support noble ideas and initiatives that are aimed at advancing the course of unity, religious tolerance and form of prosperity in our dear State”, he stated.
He also stated that “I consider my accepting to be in this gathering to be the beginning of another journey in our collective quest for a more united and peaceful Kaduna State. Our Government’s approach under my watch as a Governor is to run a State where all citizens are equal, happy and safe.
Sani therefore, charged organizers as men and women of God to pray for the peace of their homes pray for the peace of the Kaduna State and pray for the peace of Nigeria.
Earlier, the Governor expressed said hes extremely delighted for been invited be part of a very important crusade, adding that he’s choice to be part of it was deliberately due to the importance attach to it.
“I am here not only because I am duty bound to do so as a Governor, but because of the spiritual benefit I stand to gain in this fellowship.
“Since my assumption of office as a Governor of Kaduna State, I have made personal resolve to stick to my oath of office which suggest that I will be a Governor to the entire people of Kaduna State and not a part of it, and that I will be fair to all and sundry.
“My dear Christian brothers and sisters gather for this crusade let me emphatically say, Elections have come and gone, the litigations are over, what is before us is the herculean task of uniting our people and providing qualitative leadership for them.
“This we can only achieve through honest and sincere engagement with the people regardless of their ethnic or religious affiliations. In the pursuit of this objective, I appeal to this gathering, all Christians and all Christian leaders to accept the fact that we have no any other State than Kaduna State that you have the solemn duty to preach peace and peaceful coexistence at all times.
“My acceptance to come and be part of this solemn assembly is less than two month and i honour the invitation, this shows a pellucid testament of my commitment to restore the people’s confidence in Government”, he stated.
