Gov Soludo Names 20 Commissioners-designate

Governor of Anambra State Chukwuma Soludo has submitted a list of 20 commissioner-designates to the Anambra State House of Assembly for screening and confirmation.
The speaker of the state legislature, Hon Uchenna Okafor, who read the names of the commissioner-nominees to the state lawmakers, told them that the list also contained 15 nominees as special advisers under his administration.
The speaker who referred the list to the House Committee on Screening urged the members of the committee to expedite action on the screening to ensure that the administration takes off speedily.
Soludo had announced, during his inaugural speech, that the list would be forwarded to the House within one week of his assumption of office.
However, it was observed that the list of the commissioner-designates is mostly populated by former political appointees under the immediate past Governor Willie Obiano administration.
