The Special Adviser to Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State on Political Affairs, Hon. Mohammed Kassim has warned against distorting information targeted to portray the image of Nasarawa state in a bad light.

Kassim stated this in statement on Saturday in Lafia, Nasarawa state capital.

According to him, the era of politics and court cases are over, and individuals who have previously recruited and used by opposition parties to carry out campaign of calumny against the person of governor Sule should stop forthwith.

He described as force alarm being raised by some section of media that portrayed the state to be engulfed in a crisis following the Supreme Court judgement that affirmed the reelection of Governor Abdullahi Sule.

“The yesterday protest by desperate Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)supporters in front of their secretariat, where they burned some tires, should not be misconstrued for state wide crisis over the court judgment.

“Reporters are warned against spreading fake news that could tarnish the state’s image and incite unjust violence.

“Reporters must verify information before distorting reality, as the new face of government will not tolerate such actions,” he warned.

He said that the Governor had demonstrated immense tolerance towards such activities in his pursuit of peace as a good leader, noting his leniency should not be taken for granted.

He said that election and court cases were over, noting that
the governor did not need further distractions as he settles down to consolidate on bringing peace, unity and good governance to the people of the state.

Kassim, while congratulating the governor on his victory, said the Supreme Court judgement reflected the mandate given to him by the people of Nasarawa state.

“Indeed, our people are very excited about the judgment yesterday at the Supreme Court in Abuja. Engr A.A Sule won legitimately and is widely loved for his simplicity and remarkable achievements across the state,” he said.
