Governor Ahmad Aliyu of Sokoto State has cautioned members of the committees responsible for selecting 3,000 youths for government employment across local government areas to uphold fairness, justice, and integrity in the exercise.
In a message on Monday, the governor stressed that the selection process must prioritize merit and transparency to ensure opportunities reach those who truly deserve them.
He warned against using the recruitment exercise for personal gain or as a reward for political loyalty, describing such practices as unjust and unfair.
Governor Aliyu urged the committees to place community needs above personal connections or bias, noting that only a fair and merit-based approach would guarantee the program’s success.
The governor emphasized that his administration is committed to ensuring that employment opportunities provided by the state are utilized effectively to empower young people and improve livelihoods across Sokoto.
