Governor Ododo Signs N582.4 Billion 2025 Budget into Law in Kogi

Kogi State Governor, Alh. Ahmed Usman Ododo, on Monday, signed the 2025 appropriation bill into law in Lokoja, marking a significant step toward the implementation of the state’s budget.

The signing ceremony, held at the Glass House, Government House, Lokoja, was an important move, according to Governor Ododo. He emphasized that the budget will play a key role in stimulating job creation, infrastructure development, food security, and staff welfare across the state.

The 2025 budget totals N582,404,119,489, representing a 43.34% increase over the revised 2024 budget of N406,321,130,013. The funds will be allocated to crucial sectors including education, healthcare, infrastructure, agriculture, and economic development.

In his presentation of the Appropriation Bill to the Governor, the Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly, RT Hon. Aliyu Umar, urged the Governor to ensure that the “Budget of Inclusivity” benefits all constituencies in the state for broader and more effective development.

By signing the bill, Governor Ododo has shown his dedication to shaping Kogi State’s financial future. The move is expected to foster positive economic growth and improve the quality of life for the state’s citizens.
