Governor Sanwo-Olu’s First Appointment: Ayinde Reappointed as Chief of Staff.

Sanwo-Olu Reappoints Ayinde and Soyannwo, Announces New Appointments

Lagos State Governor, Babjide Sanwo-Olu, has announced the reappointment of his former Chief of Staff, Mr Tayo Ayinde, and Deputy Chief of Staff, Gboyega Soyannwo, to their previous positions. The announcement was made during a television broadcast on Thursday. Additionally, Barr. Bimbola Salu-Hundeyin has been appointed as the Secretary to the State Government.

Speculations suggest that the Governor will retain about 70 percent of the previous executive in his second term cabinet. Notable individuals expected to return include Gbenga Omotoso as Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Moruf Akinderu-Fatai as Commissioner for Housing, Engr Aramide Adeyoye as Special Adviser to the Governor on Works and Infrastructure, and Tokunbo Wahab as Special Adviser on Education.

In a separate development, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, the Labour Party’s candidate in the 2023 general elections for Lagos State Governorship, has filed a case at the tribunal challenging Governor Sanwo-Olu’s victory. Rhodes-Vivour is seeking to nullify the Governor’s victory and be declared as the validly elected chief executive of the state.
