Governor Zulum Completes Over 1,238 Capital Projects Across 27 LGAs

By Achadu Gabriel, Kaduna

Borno State Governor, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum, has successfully executed more than 1,238 capital projects across the state’s 27 local government areas since assuming office in 2019. This feat places him among the most impactful two-term governors in Nigeria.

Governor Zulum’s administration has delivered numerous high-profile projects, including:

  • Three Mega-Secondary Schools: Recently inaugurated by World Bank Country Director, Dr. Ndiame Diop.
  • Infrastructure Development: Key projects such as the 1.2 km Shehu Abubakar Garbai Expressway, Borno Express Flyover, Metro Housing (Kashim Shettima Estate), and Njimtilo 500 Housing Units (Mai Mala Buni Estate).

These projects were commissioned last week by Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni, highlighting Zulum’s commitment to infrastructural transformation in Borno State.

The Governor’s Senior Special Assistant on New Media, Abdurrahman Bundi, announced a comprehensive multimedia campaign to spotlight seven of Zulum’s recently completed projects.

“We planned this campaign strategically to allow mainstream media hype around the projects to subside before dominating social media platforms with Zulum’s achievements,” Bundi stated in a release.

The campaign will run from Monday, December 16, to Thursday, December 19, 2024, featuring coordinated content syndication across social media and digital platforms.

Governor Zulum’s leadership has earned him several prestigious accolades, including:

  • Forbes African Leadership Award 2024.
  • African Governor of the Year Award 2023 in the Education and People Development Category by the African Leadership Magazine.
  • Exemplary Leadership Award 2023 by Naija Diaspora Magazine.
  • Commander of the Order of the Niger (CON) national honor in 2022, conferred by President Muhammadu Buhari.
  • Grand Officer Dans L’Ordre, a national honor from the Republic of Niger in 2021, equivalent to Nigeria’s GCON.

The administration has urged supporters and social media users to actively participate in the campaign to celebrate Zulum’s remarkable achievements under the hashtag #Zulum1238CapitalProjects.

Bundi emphasized that this initiative is an opportunity to showcase the Governor’s visionary leadership and transformative impact on Borno State, describing Zulum as a leader “worth celebrating in grand style.”

Governor Zulum’s unparalleled contributions continue to uplift Borno, cementing his legacy as a transformative leader in Nigeria.
