Group Calls For Adequate Security, Good Roads At The Ajaokuta Train Station In Kogi

A Non Governmental Organization, Concerned People of Ajaokuta, has called on the Federal Ministry of Transport and the management of the Federal Railway Cooperation to beef up security around the train station Ajaokuta in Kogi state.

In a statement signed by the Chairman and Secretary of the group, Raimi Okekenu and Mohammed Ismaila stressed the need for a environment and a good road leading to the station.

The group however commended the Kogi state and the Ajaokuta Local Government Chairman for being proactive in deploying security, comprising military personnels and vigilantes to the station after the unfortunate attack recently.

“The deployment of military and vigilantes to the area has boost confidence in the passengers and others who do business around the station.” the statement added.

“We however appealed to the minister of Transport and the management of the Railway Cooperation to urgently tar the road leading to the station as obtainable in all other stations across the country.”

They promised to continue to work with both the state and the federal government to ensure smooth operation of the station, saying that asides the passengers who uses the train station, there are people whose daily survival depends on the station.
