Group canvasses support for Atiku, PDP

Attracted by the dire need to restructure the country if voted into power in next year’s presidential election, a group, Naturecracy for Atiku-Obi Support Movement, NAPSUM, has thrown its weight behind the former Vice-President and PDP Presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and Mr Peter Obi joint ticket as a great reflection of better tidings in Nigeria.

The group, after its meeting held in Awka came up with a 9-point agenda which it said were in tandem with the ideology of the organization.

In a release made available to our correspondent in Onitsha yesterday and signed by the organisation’s Founder and President, Prince Chinedu Nsofor, the State Secretary, Comrade Chinedu Akukalia and its State Coordinator, Sir Peter Okala observed that Atiku’s proclamation for a one term bid for President was in tune with the group’s ‘’naturecratic’’ focus for the actualization of national transformation and her unalloyed support for Atiku/Obi Presidency.

The group while drumming home its excitement over the restructuring agenda of the PDP Presidential Candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar which she noted would go a long way in enhancing the socio-economic and political fortunes of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

The group, however, expressed regret that the present administration even under severe circumstances and conditions has bluntly refused to embrace restructuring of the country as an inescapable panacea to numerous problems facing the nation and as such has no alternative than to embrace the restructuring agenda of PDP Presidential Candidate, Atiku/Obi ticket which has purportedly shown enough concern and willingness to restructure the country for effective political socio-economic and security of lives and property of the citizenry.

The release, however, frowned at those who are not comfortable with the choice of Mr. Peter Obi whom it described as a performer and economic expert, adding that this was not time when important decisions are taken in the elitist quarters, but by the grassroots people whom it described as the real custodian of democracy as power truly belongs to the people.

The release further stated that democracy which should be a reflection of the people’s choice must be upheld; while those who form stumbling block to true reflection of democracy would soon become unpopular, citing that the organization’s ideology was embedded and dedicated to the nationalistic approach of the nation’s founding fathers, such as late Dr Nnamdi Azikiwe, Chief Obafemi Awolowo, Alhaji Sir Abubakar Tafawa Balewa, Alhaji Sir Ahmadu Bello and Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu whose spirits it noted are united in “naturecracy”.
