Group commends Buhari over appointment of NNPC, GMD

The Northeast Development Association (NEDA) has commended President Muhammad Buhari for appointing Alhaji Kyari Kolo Mele, as Group Managing Director (GMD) Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC).

Addressing newsmen in Maiduguri, the Coalition Chairman, Alhaji Abbas Gambo said ” Mr Kyari Kolo Mele is a technocrat and a manager per excellence with 27 years of cognate experience in the oil and gas industry and widely known for integrity, accountability and transparency in governance particularly within the context of his exemplary and patriotic activities and contributions in the direct sales of direct purchase programme of the NNPC, as a Group General Manager Crude oil Marketing Division of the corporation “.

The group called on all Nigerians to support the new GMD in repositioning Nigeria’s oil and gas sector to the next level, stressing that his 27 years of experience and integrity will be brought to bear in the quest to improve the oil and gas industry, most especially with his experience in the OPEC as Nigerian representative.

” We urge the GMD to redouble efforts for continuous service to the Nation and come up with unique, effective and efficient initiatives and ideas that will ensure increased energy sufficiency “, Gambo added.

They urged Mr Mele to redouble his efforts in the oil exploration of oil in the Lake Chad Basin, Benue trough and all other parts of oil exploration interests.
