Gunmen Attack Kogi Church, Abduct Pastor, Wife and Members During Sunday Service

Gunmen on Sunday attacked the newly established Cherubim and Seraphim Church in Ejiba, Yagba West Local Government Area of Kogi State, abducting the pastor, his wife and several worshippers during the morning service.The incident occurred during the church’s Sunday worship when armed men reportedly stormed the premises and began shooting sporadically, sending congregants running for safety.

Local residents said the pastor, popularly known as Orlando, was taken alongside his wife and an unspecified number of church members. The exact number of abducted individuals has yet to be confirmed.

Community members described the attack as shocking and terrifying, noting that the gunmen invaded without warning and caused widespread panic throughout the area.As of the time of filing this report, neither the Kogi State Government nor the Police Command has issued an official statement regarding the attack or efforts to rescue the victims.
