Gunmen kill Ebonyi Deputy Speaker’s aide

The Ebonyi State Police Command on Thursday confirmed the killing of Mr Kingsley Obasi, an aide to the Deputy Speaker of the state House of Assembly by suspected gunmen.

DSP Loveth Odah, Public Relations Officer of the Command, confirmed this to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abakaliki.
Odah said the incident happened on Wednesday night.

The Police Spokesman added that investigation has begun into the matter to arrest the perpetrators.

Narrating the incident, Odah said: “We gathered that the victim was trailed by the gunmen on Wednesday night on his way home before killing him.”

The spokesman added that the gunmen also collected his bag before shooting him.
