Gunmen Kill Security Guard, Abduct Senior Lawyer’s Sister in Oyo

Gunmen have reportedly killed a security guard and kidnapped Alhaja Seliat Raji, the sister of prominent legal luminary and Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Alhaji Ahmed Raji (SAN), in Iseyin, Oyo State.

According to sources, the armed kidnappers arrived at the residence on a motorcycle and left in their victim’s Lexus car.

The incident, which occurred on Thursday evening, May 16, around 8 pm, has plunged Iseyin into a state of panic amid renewed security threats in the community and its environs.

The heavily armed kidnappers, wearing hoods, slaughtered the security guard before storming the living room where their target was watching television.

Family sources confirmed that the kidnappers have contacted Alhaji Ahmed Raji, demanding a ransom, though the amount has not been specified.

“They have called the SAN and made their demands clear. Everyone is now in panic,” the source said.

Security personnel, including police operatives, Amotekun, and men of Operation Burst, have been stationed at the Raji residence along Iseyin-Saki Road to ensure safety amid escalating fears. They were also seen at the entrance gate of the former state chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Kunmi Mustapha.
