Tragedy struck in Zamfara State’s Tsafe Local Government Area as Musa Ille, the secretary of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), fell victim to gunmen suspected to be terrorists. The assailants targeted Ille right outside his residence in Tsafe, resulting in his untimely demise.
Witnesses recount the horrifying incident, describing Ille as a respected and virtuous member of the community. His loss has sent shockwaves through the neighborhood.
This unfortunate event adds to a series of attacks targeting influential figures within the PDP in Zamfara. Shafiu Abubakar, another prominent member aspiring for the chairmanship position in Maradun Local Government Area, also met a tragic fate near Danbaza junction and Maradun town.
In a glimmer of hope amidst the darkness, the kidnapped students of Federal University, Gusau, have been freed from captivity. Last year, they were abducted by bandits during a raid on the Sabon-Gida community in Bungudu Local Government Area.
Zamfara’s struggle with banditry persists, with criminal groups terrorizing villages and carrying out mass kidnappings, particularly targeting students. The region’s security challenges demand urgent attention and comprehensive measures to ensure the safety and well-being of its residents.
