The Federal Capital Territory Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board (FCT MPWB) says it will commmence a weekend vaccination exercise for intending pilgrims ahead of the 2026 Hajj exercise.
The vaccination exercise will take place at the Board’s Permanent Hajj Transit Camp in Bassan Jiwa, near Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.
Pilgrims from Abaji, Kwali, Gwagwalada, Kuje and the Board’s headquarters are to report on Saturday, April 11, while those from Abuja Municipal, Bwari, the Hajj Savings Scheme and Annex are expected on Sunday, April 12. Time for both days is 8:00 a.m.
Director of the Board, Malam Kadiri Edah, said the exercise is mandatory, adding that it is required for the issuance of the e-yellow card—part of the travel documents for entry into Saudi Arabia.
The vaccination covers meningitis, yellow fever, influenza, poliomyelitis and other diseases, he noted.
Pilgrims are advised to come with original payment receipts and submit their international passports where applicable.
