The Chairman, National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, Mohamed Buba Marwa has said the insecurity challenges in the country can only be effectively tackled if the fight against the abuse and use of hard drugs is intensified.
While stressing that bandits carry out their heinous deeds under the influence of narcotics, Marwa, who spoke through the Agency’s Zonal Commander on Narcotics, Zone J, Parah Julius Bawa, maintained that the feat can be achieved through collaborative efforts.
The NDLEA boss said this in Akure, the capital of Ondo State while presenting Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu with the agency’s Grand Patron title and Commander of the Amotekun Corps in the state.
While assuring the state of necessary collaborations to combat drug abuse, Marwa said the agency will not back down until drug wars and criminal activities are brought under control.
“Before the country can successfully tame insecurity, drugs are the number one factor that must be properly addressed, as bandits commit their heinous acts while high on drugs.”
