Health Struggles Continue for Actor Mr Ibu: Second Leg Amputation and Loss of Voice

In a challenging turn of events, veteran actor John Okafor, popularly known as Mr Ibu, has undergone another leg amputation, further adding to his health woes. Reports indicate that a part of the same leg that was previously amputated has been removed, signaling a deterioration in his health.

According to Dr. Emeka Rollas, the National President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), Mr Ibu’s health has significantly worsened, to the extent that he can hardly speak. The actor’s situation has prompted a resignation to fate from those close to him.

Dr. Rollas shared an update on the actor’s condition, revealing the challenging circumstances faced by both Mr Ibu and Amaechi Muonagor, another actor battling illness. He confirmed Mr Ibu’s recent leg amputation and expressed concern over his limited ability to communicate.

“We are resigning to fate concerning the two actors. As I speak with you, Mr Ibu hardly talks again, and he has undergone another leg amputation,” said Dr. Emeka Rollas.

Earlier reports in October highlighted Mr Ibu’s plea for public assistance as he faced potential amputation due to health issues. Several notable personalities, including Davido, P-Square, Tunde Ednut, and former Senate President Bukola Saraki, had stepped forward to cover his medical expenses.

Mr Ibu had undergone multiple surgeries, with an initial successful outcome. However, his health challenges persisted, leading to further surgeries, including the recent leg amputation. The actor’s daughter, Jasmine, had shared updates on social media about the difficult decisions the family faced, including the need for the second leg amputation.

Amid Mr Ibu’s health battle, there was controversy within the family concerning the use of donated funds. Gistlover reported that Mr Ibu’s wife allegedly used part of the donation money for personal expenses, leading to a public dispute within the family.

In response, Stella Maris, Mr Ibu’s wife, accused Jasmine of attempting to disrupt her marriage and labeled the statements as malicious. Mr Ibu’s son, Daniel, asserted his role as the signatory to the actor’s account, refuting claims that Jasmine had access to the funds.

The ongoing health struggles of Mr Ibu underscore the complexities faced by individuals dealing with serious medical conditions and the ripple effects within their families.
