  In September,1959, Mr. Michael Imoudu, the then President of Nigerian Labour Congress visited China at the invitation of the All China Federation of Trade Unions (ACFTU) on the 10th Anniversary of the Founding of the People’s Republic of China     The signing ceremony of an communique of talks between economic delegations in Beijing on June 18,1961, with the presence of Mr. Zhou Enlai, the then Premier of the State Council of China.   
 In August 1964, Chairman Mao Zedong granted an audience with all the scientists attending the Beijing Scientific Seminar, and shook hands with Mr. Chike Obi, Head of Nigerian delegation.  Mr. Zhu De, the then Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress of China, granted an audience with the members of the Presidium attending the 1964 Beijing Scientific Seminar, and held cordial and friendly talks with them.    
Chinese and Nigerian players exchanging skills during a friendly visit by the Chinese pingpong team to Nigeria at invitation to take part in the Nigerian National Pingpong Open Championships in July 1971.  Premier Zhou Enlai met with all members of the Nigerian economic and trade delegation headed by Mr. Adebayo Adedeji, the then Nigerian Federal Commissioner for Economic Development in 1972.    A Chinese Economic and Trade Exhibition, the first Chinese exhibition in the then Nigerian capital of Lagos since the set up of diplomatic ties between China and Nigeria, was held from October 12th to 29th, 1972.  In April 1973, Premier Zhou Enlai, the then Foreign Minister of China Mr. Ji Pengfei,, met with Mr. Okoi Arikpo, the then Nigerian Foreign Minister.   
  On August 28, 1973, Mr. Deng Xiaoping, the then Vice Premier of Chinese State Council, met with the delegation of Nigerian journalists led by Mr. Nwokedi, in Beijing.  On September 10, 1974, Chairman Mao Zedong met with the then Head of State of the Military Government of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and Commander in Chief of Armed Forces, General Jakubu Gowon in Beijing.   
 In 1975, Chinese and Nigerian acrobats rehearsing together before giving a collective performance in Kano state during a friendly visit by Wuhan Acrobatic Troupe to Nigeria.  In 1978, the Chinese and Nigerian techinicians and workers cooperating with each other and working shoulder to shoulder at the well-drilling worksite of Chad Lake Basin in Borno State of Nigeria.    Major General Mr. Babangida, the then Army Chief of Staff attending the 35th Aniversary of the Founding of the People’s Republic of China on October 1, 1984 at Tian Anmen Square in Beijing.  In November, 1984, the 1985-1986 Implementation Program on the Cultural Cooperation Agreement between the Government of China and Nigeria was signed in Beijing.    
The then Vice Premier and cocurrently Foreign Minister of China, Mr. Qian Qichen met with Mr. Gambo, Special Envoy of the Nigerian Head of State in December, 1995.    Workers and technicians engaged in hard-working on the spot of project of repairation and upgrading Nigerian railways carried out by CCECC under contracts between the two governments in 1995.     
Mr. Li Peng, the then Premier of the State Council of China, paid an official friendly visit to Nigeria in May 1997.  The then Head of State of Nigeria, Major General Abacha, welcomed Premier Li at the airport.  In April 1999, the then Chinese President Mr. Jiang Zemin met with the the President-elect of Nigeria H.E. Mr. Obasanjo at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing.     During the International Women’s Football Invitational Tournament on January 16, 2000, the Chinese women’s team won a championship in the match against Nigerian team in the finals at 3:1.  Mr. Jiang Zemin,the then Chinese President arrived in Abuja on April 14, 2002 for a state visit to Nigeria.  The then Nigerian President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, warmly welcomed President Jiang with a grand ceremony at the airport.    
Mr. Wu Bangguo, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress of China, met with Mr. Adolphus Wabara, the then Senate President of Nigeria and Mr. Aminu Bello Masari, the then Speaker of the Nigerian House of Representatives in Abuja on November 7, 2004.  In November 2004, Hua Wei, China’s tele-communication enterprise, signed an agreement on introducing new generation technics to Nigeria.    
 In April 2005, Chinese President Mr. Hu Jintao held a welcome ceremony outside of the Great Hall of the People in Beijing for the state visit of President Obasanjo. Chinese Premier Mr. Wen Jiabao met with Nigerian President Mr. Obasanjoin April 2005.

On May 15, 2007, Nigerian President Obasanjo attends the groundbreaking ceremony for the Light Rail Mass Transit Project constructed by CCECC.  On Feburary 28, 2008, Chinese President Hu Jintao hosts a welcoming ceremony in honor of the then Nigerian President Umaru Yar’Adua in Beijing.    On May 21, 2008, Late President Umaru Yar’adua and his wife pay a visit to the Chinese Embassy in Nigeria to mourn for the victims in the quake-hit southwest and northwest China’s regions a week ago.  On August 8, 2008, members of the Olympic Delegation of Nigeria parade into the National Stadium at the opening ceremony of the Beijing Olympic Games.    On August 21, 2010, Nigeria’s Minister of Commerce and Industry Jubril Martins-Kuye addresses during a ceremony celebrating the National Pavilion Day of Nigeria at the 2010 World Expo in Shanghai.  In September, 2010, member of the portifolio of the standing committee of CPC Centual Committee and Chairman of CPPCC Mr. Jia Qinglin met with former Nigerian President Obasanjo during his attendance of the 21 Century Forum in Beijing.   
 On January 8, 2010, Nigerian Foreign Minister Maduekwe shakes hands with visiting Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi in Abuja, during his one-day working visit to Nigeria.  On January 9, 2010, the then Vice-President Mr. Goodluck Jonathan shakes hands with visiting Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi during Mr. Yang’s visit to Nigeria.   Nigerian President Goodluck Jonathan inspects the Sino-Nigeria joint ventureGuangdong-Ogun Free Trade Zone in Ogun State, Nigeria, on November 13, 2010.
