Security personnel fire teargas, live bullets

By Mike Oboh

Security personnel which included the Police, DSS and the military have been shooting canisters of tear gas and live bullets to keep off enraged youths from gaining access to  the Art and Culture Centre in Abuja to loot the COVID 19 palliatives stored there.

According to an eye witness, Chris Onekpegu who spoke with Daybreak news, the situation is so terrible that he has to send messages to all his friends and relatives to keep off the area to avoid untold story.

In the message, Onekpegu advised whoever was interested in doing anything in that area so stay away till Monday.

“Please if you are based in Abuja, don’t go close to UTC, the police, DSS and military are there shooting tear gas and live bullets, I just escaped.

They got information that some guys want to storm the Art and Culture Centre, Area 10 Garki near UTC where the covid-19 palliatives are kept. Please suspend whatever you want to do there till Monday.                                                                                                                The Police have been having tough time stopping people from looting the palliatives centres across the country where foods stuff meet for Nigerians during the ravaging period of COVID 19 are kept.

Daybreak recalls that in the last three days about 3 states have had their  covid 19 palliative warehouses looted. The states includes, Lagos, Kwara, Osun, Cross Rivers, and Kwara
