How Little Girls Promotes Self-reliance In Kano Communities-Report.

In some parts of kano communities, young girls have adopted on caps making as another means of self-reliance during weekends, where the little girls were seen in groups sewing caps that generate income whenever on holidays and weekends.

Our correspondent who monitored how some little girls embrace self-reliance reported that many girls have saved money from the sales of their caps for Sallah festivals which is a great development especially at this trying period.

Speaking to Daybreak News at Dungurawa Town, in Dawakin Tofa local government area, Zahra’u Auwal disclosed that a good and well down cap is sold at 4,500 Naira while the dealers sold each cap between 12,000-20,000 after branding it and packaging.

Similarly Sadiya Abdullahi stated that ” we gather here to sew our caps till evening whenever it is weekends or after the school hours, and if i successfully sew about 3 caps in two weeks i got 12,000 after i remove all the money I bought sewing materials which is a great progress”. She added.

Malama Aishat Mohammed announced that sewing caps occupation is very profitable expect at present when there is good marketing where big dealers buys thousands of unbranded caps from them at the rural communities for exportation and sales in large cities and markets.
