By Jabiru Hassan, Kano.

Human Rights Network (HRN) has rescued another person that was detained by his father for seven years in kano where as at the time of filing this report, the person is being treated at a hospital in the city of Kano while the father arrested for interrogation.

Narrating the ordeal to our correspondent, the kano state executive director Human rights network Comrade A.A.Haruna Ayagi told Daybreak news that ” we received a complain from a woman that there is a person detained by his father for seven years without being cared for that gathered her attention to inform us where we acted urgently and rescue the person”. He lamented.

Ayagi added that they successfully get the boy out of detention and taken to authorities concern where he is now responding to treatment after he was released, while his father is now in police net for more investigations and further action against his cruelty,

” in this regard, Human rights network is calling on the general public to report anything that is related to human rights violations to the police, security, agencies, human rights groups and activist for quick intervention especially nowadays when the act of injustice and cruelty is practiced everywhere “. Said A.A. Haruna Ayagi.

Efforts by our correspondent to have an interaction with the father of the boy proved abortive because he is now at the police giving an account of what had happened and his reasons for detaining his son to Seven years in the room without proper care, but a source close to the area where the incident happened told Daybreak news that the people of the area attempted severally to intervene but some residents withdrawn from the attempt due to some reasons.

Some Islamic scholars that were interviewed by Daybreak news warned that violating human rights is a very big sin, therefore they called on the general public to ensure justice for all their kids no matter how stubborn they become because through caunselling they may repent, and advised the government to take severe punishment on the parents that violates the rights of their children for societal sanity.
