“I Would Face Grave Danger Returning to Nigeria,” Claims Investigative Journalist David Hundeyin

By Daniel Edu

In a recent interview on ‘The REN Experience,’ Nigerian investigative journalist David Hundeyin revealed his fears of returning to Nigeria, suggesting that the government might pose a serious threat to his life due to his exposure of sensitive information.

Hundeyin disclosed that the Nigerian government had contacted Ghanaian authorities, requesting his extradition. This move was prompted by his investigative reporting, which unveiled internal military communications discussing troop mobilization to Sokoto in preparation for operations in the Niger Republic.

The journalist also alleged that an attempt was made to bring him back to Nigeria via a jet, but he managed to escape from Ghana before this could occur.

He boldly stated, “I have tackled high-risk stories that very few Nigerian journalists, alive or deceased, have dared to touch… Perhaps Dele Giwa, who paid the ultimate price with a letter bomb. I’ve delved into several such stories. So, there is a compelling reason I cannot set foot in Nigeria; it would mean certain death.”

Journalist David Hundeyin Criticizes Pastor Paul Adefarasin

In another development, David Hundeyin criticized Senior Pastor Paul Adefarasin of the House on the Rock Church for his recent sermon, which encouraged Nigerians to ‘move on’ ahead of the judgment of the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal.

During a Sunday church service, Adefarasin advised his congregation to learn how to move on without seeking closure. He argued that those who seek explanations from God for past events do not trust Him and should leave their pain behind for God to handle.

In response to this sermon, Hundeyin took to the microblogging platform X to express his discontent. He accused Pastor Adefarasin of corruption and likened him to a character from the movie ‘King of Boys.’
