Idoma Media Practitioners hails Ochi’Idoma on his appointment as Chancellor

Congress of Idoma media practitioners of Nigeria has heartily congratulated the paramount ruler of Idoma Kingdom, His Royal Highness (HRH), Ochr’Idoma Agaba’Idu, Dr Elaigwu Odogbo Obagaji John, on his appointment as the New Chancellor, Federal University Otuoke, Bayelsa state.

The body, in a press statement signed by its National President, Comrade Amos Ebute Mathew and made available to Journalists in Kaduna, said Dr. Elaigwu has made the Idoma race proud.

Recalled that President Muhammadu Buhari, appointed the paramount ruler as the new Chancellor and was formally presented the appointment letter on 12th May, 2023 at the Ochi’Idoma Palace in Otukpo, Benue state of Nigeria.

Buhari, who was represented by the Executive Secretary of the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFUND), Arc. Sonny Echono, stated that Och’Idoma’s appointment was based on his enviable track records, leadership qualities and integrity.

While expressing optimism that the newly appointed Chancellor has garnered enough leadership skills from the palace and various institutions of learning, Comrade Ebute noted that the university will be salvaged within a short period of time under his chancellorship.

He described Elaigwu as a national asset whose contribution to the commitment of Education and the sustenance of peace and stability is not only limited to the Idoma kingdom but the nation at large.

He assured that the paramount ruler will use his wealth of experiences garnered to salvage the university within a short period of time and urged relevant stakeholders in the institution to give him their maximum support in the course of discharging his duties so as to be able to achieve the desired results.

Dr. Elaigwu was born on 27th March,1969 to the family of Mr. ELAIGWU EKOJA in Obagaji, the headquarters of AGATU local government area of Idoma in Benue State.
He is a graduate of prestigious Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria 1994 with B.Sc honours in Accounting, Master in Business Administration 2012, from Benue State University, Post Graduate Diploma in Education (2015) from National Teacher Institute, M.Sc Accounting and Finance, Nasarawa State University, Keffi and Phd (in view) in Accounting from Nasarawa State University Keffi.

He is also a Fellow of Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria, (FCITN), Fellow Certified National Accountants of Nigeria (FCNA), Associate member of Nigeria Institute of Management, Group Pastor (Pentecost Group)
Deeper Life Bible Church, two term Chairman, Association of Senior Civil Servants of Nigeria, among others.
